I would have felt too guilty, which is a weak excuse for avoiding seeing it while they live it.<br /><br />I hope you get this before you leave Uyuni for Tupiza, because if you want to avoid hellish dirt roads and washboards that will destroy your suspension/will to live, then, by all means, DO NOT take the direct road from Uyuni to Tupiza. All of the "roads" you take on your 4x4 tour are just like it, and it took us 9 hours to complete the 215 kilometer journey. It was the first road on the whole trip to damage our luggage, the vibrations from the washboards fatigued and broke one of our upper box mounts. Oh, yeah, and 20 miles an hour, for nine hours straight, in the sandy ass desert and then rocky ass mountains. Please go back to Potosi, drink some Potosina for me, and go to Tupiza from there.
